About
Hello, I'm Miki Morimoto — a bilingual executive coach based in Tokyo.
In high school, I was far more devoted to club activities than academics, and narrowly avoided repeating a year. I graduated thanks to the patience of a dedicated math teacher, though a conventional path to university in Japan was no longer an option. With little more than a passion for language and a one-way ticket, I left for the UK at 18 — without speaking a word of English.
Immersed in an educational culture that demanded independent thought and self-expression, I found my voice — slowly, and not without struggle. I navigated financial hardship, leaned on the generosity of friends, and ultimately completed both my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. I then entered the field I had long aspired to: international NGOs, with my first posting in South Sudan. Through humanitarian and development work, I engaged with diverse cultures and communities — learning, questioning, and growing through every challenge.
I went on to work in consulting and global corporations, where I took on roles that bridged cultures and facilitated cross-cultural collaboration.
My twenties and thirties were defined by purpose-driven movement — always forward, always for others. Yet somewhere along the way, I lost connection with my own voice.
It was a close friend who introduced me to Psychosynthesis — and for the first time, I turned that same dedication inward. Through coach training, I worked carefully with the deeply ingrained mindsets and survival-driven patterns I had accumulated over the years, and gradually reconnected with my own values and sense of direction.
I have come to believe that staying connected to oneself is the most fundamental foundation of wellbeing — not as an abstract ideal, but as something I have had to actively cultivate in my own life.
I am not a coach who provides answers. I create a space for honest dialogue — where you can hear your own voice and rediscover the direction that is authentically yours.
